Hermione sat down at the Gryffindor table, sleep still making its way out of her body. She blinked a few times to clear her vision and ran a hand through her curls. She sipped her pumpkin juice and piled some food on her plate. The hall was pretty crowded with people before class started, but Hermione couldn't spot any of her friends yet. Probably still in bed... Hermione thought with a smirk, and was jealous that she wasn't still in bed right now. "Oh well," Hermione said and took a bite of her toast.

It was the damn sunlight that had woken Summer up that day. The stupid beam of light had found the perfect angle through the window and shone into her eyes early that morning. She'd tried to go back to sleep, but Summer was one of those people who couldn't go back to sleep once they woke up--something she truly hated. Cursing to herself, Summer flipped open the covers and dressed herself. Taking a last look in the mirror, she turned on the spot and walked straight to the Great Hall.
Her dark eyes scanned the hall quickly as she stood in the doorway. There were people everywhere talking and she spotted the group of some of her good friends sitting at the Ravenclaw table. She smiled to herself and made her way over, but not before catching the sight of Hermione by herself. Summer had always known Hermione, but they hadn't really started to talk until very recently. Hermione wasn't surrounded by her usual group of wizards and witches on the inside of the action. She was by herself. Summer decided to take action. She threw an apologetic look toward her friends and walked over to Hermione, sitting down on the bench across from her.
"Hey Hermione," She greeted cheerfully, "How are you?"

Hermione looked up just as she was biting the toast. Awkward. She chewed quickly and swallowed, getting her act together before she smiled back at Summer. "Hey Summer," She said before taking a swig of her pumpkin juice. "How are you?"
She and Summer had become friends recently and Hermione was glad they had. She was definitely someone that Hermione liked to be around. And it was nice to have friends outside of her house, especially in cases like these when no one from her house was around.
